A GRAPHIC DESIGN BLOG

Resources & Inspiration for the Artistically Curious

ConceptKicks.com

ConceptKicks is an online magazine dedicated to all things footwear design. From sketches, renderings and samples to inspirational images and tutorials, we try to shine the spotlight on the many amazing footwear designers in the industry, as well as inspiring and helping the next ones up.

Shoe lover, and industrial designer extraordinaire, Daniel Bailey is the creator of ConceptKicks.com, a new blog for the footwear lover in all of us. For as long as I’ve known Daniel, he has always been intensely passionate about design and sports (particularly the shoes athletes use), so it’s no surprise that he has embarked on an ambitious adventure to create a helpful, resourceful, and concept-driven blog for all those who share his passions.

Having previously spearheaded the industrial design blog Monkee Design, Daniel has narrowed his focus to his true artistic passion: kicks. The blog so far has been stuffed with sketches, 3D renderings, videos, and even raw material swatches that designers can to look for inspiration in their own designs.

This isn’t Mr. Bailey’s first rodeo, either. Daniel recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money with his own shoe line called lup (pronounced “loop”), a venture he hoped would give him the start-up capital he required to open a shared design work space in New York City. The shoes are created with a unique hollowed out heel, that was inspired by the sport of ping pong. The campaign failed to gain traction on Kickstarter, however, but that hasn’t slowed down Daniel one bit as this new concept-driven blog shows he is unrelenting in his passion for the kicks that drive athletes to excel, and fashionably at that!

Be sure to add www.ConceptKicks.com to your blog roll and show your support for Daniel’s visions and talents by following him on Twitter @MrBailey.

Daniel is also the creator of the shoe company lup, pronounced “loop” as well as the blog MonkeeDesign.
